Centre of Excellence - Lads Xmas Party – Update

Event organisers Terry, Cathy & Gaynor would like to thank everyone who attended Richmond Hall on the 18^th of December, and showed their support for the lads Xmas Party, it was a great evening enjoyed by all who attended,  we have had lots of fantastic feedback which has been very much appreciated, from  Staff, boys & parents.

Despite the snow, over 200 people attended the event including Tony Ellis, his coaches & physio staff, players and parents, with some parents travelling from as far as Cheshire, despite the weather conditions. We would like to thank Bob Batchelor who gave up his evening despite it being his wife’s birthday; he did a fantastic job as Auctioneer for the evening. We would also like to thank, the youth player ‘Josh Tinker for attending and presenting the ‘Player of the Month’ awards with Tony Ellis.

The evening was a fantastic success the total amount rose via the Mini Auction, Tombola & Stand up Bingo events, was £1,185:90.

There was a free raffle for all  who attended, with donated items from various companies throughout Rochdale and the surrounding areas, thanks also go out to , the butcher Clive at  Gabbots in Rochdale, Greggs – Bakers , Wilkinson’s, Flying Tigers, Metro Digital Television, Springbank Interiors, Burke & Eastwood Electrical Ltd, Ice Diamond, Camelot, Strike Ten, CO-OP, Farmfoods, Tesco’s, Costco, Mr & Mrs Humphries ‘Foxes Biscuits’   these are just a few to mention as the list is endless.

Special thanks go to – Khalid & All Staff at Richmond Hall, for their efficiency and co-operation before and during the evening,

On Friday 12^th February 2010, the Parents Association held their Sportsman’s Dinner. Feedback from the evening has been very positive with everybody having an enjoyable evening with lots of laughs. Guests were entertained by footballing legend David Johnson, Comedian Mickey Gunn and Compare Malcolm Lord.

The evening finished with a sporting memorabilia auction.

To date, with several items still to be auctioned, the event has raised £2,286 all of which will be used to improve facilities at the Centre of Excellence.

May I take this opportunity to thank everybody who attended and to those who purchased items from the auction.

The Parents Association would also like to personally thank Tony Ellis for all the effort and time he spent ensuring the night was a success!
