Scouts are to liaise with myself so as to the identify the needs of the teams on a regular basis and to attend Centre of Excellence games and training sessions once in a while so they can have an idea of the standard already in the teams. Coaches inform myself if a player sent in has gained a contract or if not what were they lacking, I shall then inform the scout so they will have a better idea of what type of player the coach requires.
As a club we need to forge better links with junior clubs from the Rochdale area as there are far too many players on our doorstep going to other clubs.
Scouts are to cover as many major tournaments in the north west as possible for recruitment purposes, to give the club a presence and also to promote the club.
Regular scouts meetings must be attended so that all scouts are aware of developments in the club.
Scouts to report recommended players to myself, I shall then liaise with the coaching staff and arrange a date for a trial before Kirsty sends a letter out. Players details MUST be sent into myself before being invited into training even if you have previously spoken to the coaches so that the club has a record of who is on trial.
A database shall be kept as to who sent which players in, so any payment due if a player comes through to gain a scholarship or professional contract will go to the scout who recommended the player.
Instead of trials being given to anyone who writes in to the club, we will filter out the ones which fit in with our criteria and arrange for a scout to observe them before deciding if they are of a high enough standard to be invited in for a trial.
Azmat Khan is the contact for local Asian & BME Communities regarding the recruitment of players from predominantly Asian backgounds.
We have created more of a link with Keith Hicks and the FITC team and need to keep them informed of the players we require in various age groups.
