Dale’s youth team had a 1-1 draw with Stockport away on Saturday 17th April 2010. Dale’s goal was scored by Callum Byrne in the 48th minute. We caught up with boss Chris Beech who gave his views on the game “A complete contrast to last weeks performance although Stockport deserve credit for there pressing and tonicity and well taken goal. With only 1 cross and no shots at goal in the first half and going a goal down to very basic mistakes, half time couldn’t come quick enough from our perspective. Second half we were excellent with quick decisive passing and moving. Callum Byrne’s goal, excellent technique for the initial strike but after hitting the bar showed great composure to tap home. Now dominating we didn’t punish to opposition and finish the job off. Great response to the half time chat and we look forward to next weeks game which going into next season will be a youth team now represented at League 1 Level. Well done to Keith and Dave, the players and all the staff. Hard work, intelligence, energy and burning desire to succeed really does come through and meet success. It has been an absolute pleasure supporting the 1st team and having the privilege to watch our 1st team games. Very well done lads.
