Dale’s youth team played Shrewsbury away on Saturday 10th April 2010, dale overcome Shrewsbury in a 4 – 2 win showing off their fine performance. Dale’s goals were scored by Dennis Sherriff in just the 2nd minute of the game, Reece Gray in the 17th minutes of the game, the 3rd goal was an own goal and the 4th goal was scored by Oliver Devenney in the 78th minute. We catch up with boss Chris Beech who gave his views on the game “playing a team above us in the League prior to the game, the lads completely bossed proceedings through the ability to play ball, move and finish off good play. The teams the lads play against have pro’s now in their team from their decisions at their clubs. Ours have had exemplary attitudes with high quality performances both at youth and reserve level. Within the next week or so the 2nd years will get to know their fate. Prior to these decisions I would like to congratulate each and every one of them for their ability to perform when not knowing what the future holds and at the same time representing themselves and Rochdale AFC at a very high standard.
