Dale’s youth team played Port Vale FC on Saturday 20th February 2010, dale overcome Port Vale in a 2-1 win showing off their fine performance. Dale’s goals were scored by Oliver Devenney (2), Helio Andre (84), capping off a performance Chris Beech thought was excellent. We caught up with boss Chris Beech who gave his views on the game “Good result with some real attacking threat. Need to finish opportunities better as goals change the game in more than just score lines. Players relax express with a certain arrogance which we displayed last Saturday very well against Wigan. Didn’t reach that standard today and always looked shaky when Port Vale countered with at times, a lack of discipline from full backs and midfield players. A great leading curve for our young centre half’s from today’s experience will stand them in a good stead for the future. WELL DONE. This run of results deserves praise for a young youth team as a couple of our older players Dennis Sherriff and Chris Brown are out on loan at Woodley Sports and Bamber Bridge.
