| Dale’s youth team played Wigan Athletic FC on Saturday 13th February 2010 at Christopher Park, dale overcome Wigan in a 2-1 win. Reece Gray (47) and Callum Byrne (60) scored the goals for Dale capping off a great performance. We caught up with boss Chris Beech who gave his views on the game “Great result complimented with a great performance. Godwin Abadaki our U16 centre forward played well and is improving every week. The older scholars were excellent and responded well to the news of Chris Brown’s contract positively. Callum Byrne played excellent and over the last two games he is starting to show a real desire to get on the goal sheet. Today that happened with a great drive and shot, to win the game. Also, a special mention to Liam Murray as his performances has now moved on to the next stage. Very well done.
