Youth Team Update : Rochdale AFC News

Youth Team Update
Dale’s youth team played Oldham Athletic on Saturday 17th October, unfortunately, dale were defeated 4-2 by Oldham but was a good game and the lads played some good attractive football.

Dale’s goals were scored by Scott Hogan in the 24th minute with ˝ a volley into the far corner of the net, and Dennis Sherriff in the 70th minute with good wing play from Helio Andre and Dennis finishing the goal well from close range.

We catch up with boss Chris Beech who gives his views on the game and stated “with both Danny Taberner our GK and Chris Brown our CH making the 1st team squad to travel to Grimsby and an injury to Michael Roche midweek, we adopted a new formation which we coped with well playing creative and attractive football. Falling behind early didn’t really affect the flow of the game with Scott Hogan equalising and at half time feeling very strong and confident about the 2nd half.

After the break it was a different story and for the first time since the opening day of the season we didn’t meet the challenges Oldham gave us or take responsibility for getting to grips with the game. With no distractions this week I am really looking forward to working hard with the players to knock out the excuses and get the lads back on track to good habits”.

Personally I would like to thank Everton FC for lending us a goalkeeper as our U16 GK was injured and Danny Taberner in first team squad. Thank you.

Dale: Roberts, Brizell, Buckley, Bell, Wheeler, Benjamin, Hogan, Byrne, Gray, Sherriff, Andre, Bentham (75), Murray, Tinker, Dale, Abadaki (82).
