| Trevor Reed from the Parents Centre of Excellence Association handed over a cheque for £100,000 to Rochdale AFC director Andrew Kelly in a pledge to donate £20,000 over the next five years. The sum raised goes towards the day-to-day running of the centre and improving facilities for the youngsters in Tony Ellis’ charge. Despite tough times the centre are working extremely hard to raise funds and Trevor would like to express his thanks to those concerned in the fund raising to date and beyond. “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us raise this figure now and in the future. We do everything we can to raise money from football cards to events and we are extremely grateful to everyone especially in these difficult times.” Dale director Andrew Kelly echoed those sentiments. “This money will go towards giving our Centre of Excellence the best platform for the children in pursuit of their footballing dreams. It is a tremendous effort on behalf of the parents, families and friends to raise the kind of sums needed every year. “Costs increase all the time and while this is a significant sum the centre is always looking for other forms of donation and sponsorship.” If can help then there are plenty of sponsorship opportunities available.
