| Dale’s youth team had a 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Saturday 19th September up at Rossendale. We catch up with boss Chris Beech who gives his views on the game and stated “both teams started slowly with Rochdale shading possession of the ball. A good goal was scored with Reece Gray nodding home a Michael Roche back header. The game opened up in the 2nd half with both teams having good chances with them hitting the woodwork twice and having a penalty appeal turned down. The lads from both teams created chances but didn’t take this advantage. It was a very good game by both sides but Callum Byrne was by far the best player on the day for Dale’s youth team showing a lot of composure, desire and quality in and out of possession, very well done.” Dale: Taberner, Brizell, Buckley, Byrne, Roche, Brown, Hogan, Benjamin, Gray, Sherriff, Andre, (Bell 80). 21/09/2009 13:46:53 |  |
